Staycations!

I haven't had good vacation or any vacation in a while. When I did, we always traveled and one always came back tired and wished they just stayed home…

This time around, we stayed home aka staycation.

Was glad to have stayed because the place we were going to go was in line with the Hurricane Ian. So even though it would not be hit, I think I'd panic more than enjoy my vacation.

I'd say please pray for the communities affected by Hurricane Ian..

Some of the benefits were

1. Saved thousands of dollars- this money was going to go for food, gas which you all have seen the price of Gas these days and saved money on a place to stay.

2. Rest. Resting with toddlers or young kids is almost impossible unless you have a sitter. And you plan to pay one to watch the kids and you sleep. I was able to catch up on sleep

3. Was able to do some catching up on tasks at home

4. Get my hair done! That’s a whole post in itself 😌😄

5 Spend some much needed time with family and go to events and also enjoy my pillow

6. Enjoyed local vendors

Cons

1. No such thing as resting when you have kiddos... early to bed means early to rise. There is no truth in sleeping when the kids sleep- that means, you'd not get to do any of the chores at home

2. There is no separation of vacation mode thinking and work mode- I'd say for my first 3 days off, I was on the computer doing work when kids were asleep till 5am some days. If I had left town, I'd have left my laptop at home. Also known as I can't see the work, so I can't do it…

3. Tourism kinda suffers when no one travels. We don't learn about new things and it's easy to take home base for granted unless we put a lot of effort to go somewhere different from the normal hang out spots

In all- I enjoyed my staycation while it lasted. I'd like a few more days off though to prep for going back to work.

Just saying 🙃
